Lavanya About Leigh

My work at Lavanya is grounded in a holistic, client-centred approach that recognises the body as an interconnected system rather than a collection of isolated symptoms. I trained at the Naturopathic College of New Zealand, where I studied natural healing principles and developed a strong foundation in integrative, whole-person care. I am a qualified natural healer, with a particular interest in supporting balance across physical, emotional, and systemic levels of health.

I work with people who are seeking a more personalised and thoughtful approach to wellbeing — often those who feel their concerns are complex, ongoing, or not easily addressed through one-size-fits-all solutions. My approach focuses on listening carefully to what the body is communicating and responding with care that is tailored, respectful, and supportive rather than prescriptive.

Sessions are offered remotely, allowing flexibility while still maintaining depth and connection. This way of working supports meaningful change without the need for physical presence, making care accessible regardless of location. Each session is guided by individual needs, with an emphasis on regulation, balance, and sustainable wellbeing over time.

At the heart of my work is a belief in the body’s innate capacity to restore balance when it is properly supported. My role is to facilitate that process with clarity, integrity, and compassion, creating a safe and professional space for people to reconnect with their health and move forward with confidence.
Leigh Ross

My work is guided by a holistic understanding of health that recognises the body, mind, environment, and energetic systems as deeply interconnected. Over many years of practice, I have worked with both people and animals, with consistent and often remarkable results through remote sessions, which many clients find just as effective — and in some cases more supportive — than in-person work. Having travelled extensively and lived alongside diverse cultures around the world, I have gained valuable insight into traditional healing perspectives, natural rhythms, and the importance of working with the whole being rather than focusing solely on symptoms. This breadth of experience allows me to approach each session with depth, sensitivity, and a truly individualised perspective.

I am a creative person and have spent a significant part of my life creating art – connecting with people and animals through portraits.
I have written a book about the first part of my journey which you can find on amazon.

About the Dragonfly

The dragonfly is the symbol of Lavanya because it embodies transformation through alignment, not force. Beginning life in water and later taking flight, the dragonfly represents the journey from deep inner awareness to clarity, lightness, and freedom. It moves effortlessly between worlds—emotional, physical, and spiritual—much like the work we do at Lavanya, helping people reconnect with their body’s innate intelligence and move forward with confidence and vitality. The dragonfly also reminds us to see clearly, shed what no longer serves, and live fully in the present moment. At Lavanya, it reflects our belief that true wellbeing comes from understanding yourself deeply and choosing change that feels natural, sustainable, and empowering.

Across cultures, the dragonfly has long been recognised as a symbol of adaptability, resilience, and perspective. Its ability to change direction with ease reflects the importance of flexibility in healing — responding to the body’s signals rather than resisting them. The dragonfly’s delicate appearance also carries a quiet strength, reminding us that meaningful change does not need to be harsh or overwhelming to be effective. At Lavanya, this symbolism speaks to an approach that honours subtle shifts, steady progress, and the wisdom gained through experience. Just as the dragonfly navigates its environment with precision and grace, the work at Lavanya supports individuals in moving through transitions with clarity, trust, and a renewed sense of balance.
